Radio for the Worcestershire Royal
Choice is the hospital radio service for the Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester, a cathedral city in the heart of England.
So what exactly do we do here?
Choice is a voluntary service broadcasting to patients from a purpose-built studio centre opened in 2002. We broadcast directly to the patients bedside via the Hospedia system, friends and family can catch us via the internet (Listen Now link on right).
On our programmes we play a wide variety of music, with the emphasis on requests from patients. We also broadcast interviews with celebrities, both local and national, quizzes, local and national sports news and lots of other features. Many of our interviews are available on our Show Blog page.
Record requests are made to the Choice volunteers who regularly visit the wards. In addition, family and friends can ask for a record to be played, with a personal message if they like, by contacting the station.
